Kino Kilta, Taiteen talo — Nunnankatu 4, TurkuThe film by David Borenstein and Pavel Talankin tells the story of an ordinary schoolteacher from the small Ural town of Karabash. While working as a videographer at his school, Pavel Talankin secretly began documenting how, after the start of the war against Ukraine, the education system was transformed into a tool of state propaganda and the militarization of children. Aware of the risks to his freedom and even his life, he ultimately decides to smuggle the footage out of the country and reveal it to the world.
The film has already received the Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival 2025 and the BAFTA Award 2026 for Best Documentary, and was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
